We went to a beach house in San Clement for the 4th of July with my parents. It was a lot different of a trip than we had planned because our van had a few car problems and was in the shop while we were there. Car problems meant not being able to go to the San Diego Zoo or Temple which is what we had planned but we ended up going to the beach everyday instead which was fun too. It was Bennett's first time and he had mixed feelings. He didn't like the water but he liked tasting the sand. My parents took him for a walk in his stroller while Josh and I boogy boarded. We had dolphins swimming right by us in the water (which freaked me out because I am terrified of a shark eating me and when I saw the first fin I hightailed it out of the water and didn't get back in until the next day). I don't even like the thought of fish touching me in a lake so I really had to talk myself in to getting back in the water the next day. It was mostly cloudy but the water was an okay temperature so we had fun splashing around and riding the waves. We played games, ate creatively since we couldn't get to the store or restaurants very easily and relaxed in between car stresses. It was a good getaway despite the change in plans. Love CA!
