A few weeks ago my fabulous friend Mele snapped some pics of B and I. I just got the cd today and I love how they turned out! I love the colors, how his eye look so sparkly, his hair so fuzzy, his chin so kissable! She captured him perfectly. Thank you Mele!
On another note, I started reading Delivering Hope by Jennifer Holt. This fictional book is about an adoptive mom and a birthmom and the events leading up until they become a part of each others lives through adoption. It's pretty good so far, I have to admit I have shed a tear or two reading of Olivia's struggles with infertility. It's dead on. The descriptions of her feelings, the doubts she has, the sorrow she feels, the fears, the what-ifs, all of it. I am interested to see how the author wrote the birthmom's story, haven't gotten to that section of the book yet. I'll let you know what I think once I finish. You should check it out too if you know someone going through infertility or the adoption process, it's really enlightening on the emotional and physical aspects. Especially with Mother's Day coming up, I loved the part of the story about that. It is a really hard holiday to get through for anyone struggling with infertility, infant loss or miscarriage, or those who have never had the opportunity to get married and have babies.
I can't believe this will be my first Mother's Day in May. I already ordered this personalized with B's information and I can't wait to wear it proudly. However, as I celebrate with my family, I will still remember all the years of avoiding the card and jewelry section at the store during that month and even church on that Sunday so that I wouldn't have to be reminded of the fact that I still wasn't a Mommy. I will still be thinking of those around me wanting to be mothers and those who are mothers but have lost their little ones. I am going to try to reach out to those I know who will be struggling like a few sweet friends I had over the years did for me. I challenge you to think of someone in your life that you can send a note or drop off a treat for on Mother's Day, it will brighten your day and theirs!
