I better get started updating the blog on our ginormous roadtrip or I'll never finish! We went on a two week roadtrip this summer. We left June 27th and came home July 11th. During our trip we went to New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho/Nebraska for like two minutes :), Utah & Nevada. We drop over 3100 miles. It was fantastic. So first stop was in Albuquerque, NM where stayed with my Aunt Angela and my cousins. We got there in the evening and Aunt Angela had made some delicious enchiladas for dinner with cake for dessert. We ate dinner and then went on a drive to see all the sights in Albuquerque (which since it was dark basically consisted of every church building my Aunt and her family had attended since moving to NM). We were grateful to be able to see them and that Jeff and his wife could come by too. We were bummed not to get to see Uncle Paul (he was out of town for work) or Pam & Tasha and their kiddos (they live in other states). It was great to visit even just for a bit. Oh also, they have a beagle too so we got to play with their doggy too.

Our next stop was at my Aunt Callee's house. She is my biological father's sister and I haven't seen her or any of the other aunts, uncles or cousins since I was really young so I got to meet all of them for the "first" time. I was really nervous driving there. When we pulled up, my birthdad Scott walked out and gave me a big hug, which helped me feel more comfortable (I haven't seen him in about 6 years either). When I walked in the door, I was warmly greeted by Callee, Aunt Chris & her daughter Caitlin, as well as Griffin & Andy (Griffin is Callee's son and Andy is Chris' son). Later in the evening I met Callee's husband Jeff and their daughter Natasha. We had dinner and then sat around talking in the backyard. Then we played games! I knew I liked them :) We took lots of pictures and enjoyed getting to know each other. I felt like I had always known them, it was wonderful. I miss them all already! I hope that now that we have established a relationship, I can continue to develop it and visit more often. They had lots of pictures of me from when I was little and stories that I had never heard about myself. They also were sharing things about them that I have in common so it was very interesting to get to hear. There were tears shed and laughs shared. They are amazing people and I feel very fortunate to have them as a part of my life. Originally, we were just going to visit for one day but we ended up deciding to stay for two. So, the second day we stayed at Chris' house and played games. Also, Caitlin drew a Henna tattoo on my foot. It was beautiful. Anyway, it was great. I am really glad that I was brave enough to meet all of them and to open myself up to getting to know new people. :)
Dinner at Callee's house (I was surprised that our houses are decorated similarly, great taste!)

We had a blast and it was hard to leave! Hope to see all of you again soon! Our next stop was Pine Bluffs, WY. This was the town that Josh grew up in. But, that will be in the next post, because it needs a post of it's very own :)
