I'm a little behind because Bennett is 5 weeks old now but better late than never. I want to document his first month, so I can look back and remember how much he is changing! I look at him and think that he looks a little bit bigger and is more alert and vocal everyday.
So some firsts:
*First bath-I was very cautious to wait until his umbilical cord had for sure fallen off and his belly button was looking all healed. He likes bath time most of the time, enjoys the warm water and getting to be naked! He likes to have me sprinkle water on him, even his face (trying to get him used to that so he won't be afraid of that when he's older). I like bath time too, it's a nice way to get him ready for bed and spend some quiet time talking and caring for him. He doesn't like to get out of the water though. It's cold! :)
*First family walk-we have been taking Bennett out on walks with Farley. He doens't like to be in his stroller at night because he can't see so if it's dark I will carry him in a wrap or just hold him. It's still so hot, looking forward to when it cools down so we can go on walks during the day.
*First trip to the mall-He is a good shopper. We went to Bath & Body Works and we have been to a few other stores like Target and Walmart together. Josh is bummed that he behaves so well when I shop because then I can still shop often :)
*First trip to church-I only took him to sacrament meeting so far. Everyone was smiling and looking at us when we came in and when he fussed a little during the opening prayer, I stood up and took him to the back to rock standing up. I got alot of supportive smiles and mouthed "Congratulations" across the crowd. There are alot of loving people in our ward who can't wait to get to hold him, but I'm a protective mama and want him to be a little bit bigger before he gets exposed to too many germs. :)
*First time in a swing/bouncer/pack n'play: The votes are in on each one of these-likes the swing if he is sleeping, doesn't like it if awake, likes the bouncer as long as it's vibrating (this is what I put him in to shower, the only way it happens) and we have already run the battery down using the bouncer because it's the only place he would sleep the first couple of weeks, doesn't like the pack n' play unless the bear mobile is going with music playing too.
Likes:
looking at fans, listening to Josh sing, laying on his tummy propped up on my leg or Boppy pillow, loves being wrapped up like a bean burrito (in fact we call him Bean because he is so little and likes to be a bean burrito baby) and being in a wrap on me while I am doing things as long as I'm not bending or scrunching him.
In the bouncer

In the swing

Dislikes: sleeping flat on his back, getting diaper/clothes changed
Cute things: He will bob his head and try to eat my neck, chin or nose if he is hungry, he toots really loud like an old man, he grunts and squawks all day not because he is upset but just because he wants to be heard. He has the most adorable dimple on his right cheek just like his birthmom. :)
Diaper Size: just started wearing 1's last week but was wearing Newborn most of the month
Clothes: still mostly newborn
Milk Consumption: 2 1/2 oz. every two hours
Weight: 9 lbs. 10 oz.
Length: 21 inches
Hair Color: Reddish Brown (only looks red in sunlight)
We are loving being parents and getting to learn from Bennett and about his personality. He is a miracle and I still feel pretty surreal about all that has happened in the last month.
It's amazing!

A few more pictures:
First Bath :)
He was not too pleased to be sucking on my finger while his bottle was heating up, as you can see by a certain finger he is holding up... :)
Loved the first month and can't wait to see what the second month will hold!

He's such a beautiful baby. Congrats again!! Great job keeping up with his growth and development. I just compiled a shutterfly book using my monthly blog posts of Trav and pics- I highly recommend, it's so fun to look at!
Yay for a healthy, happy, growing sweet boy!
He is too sweet. I can't wait to meet him!
