The week after school got out we went to the ward campout. It was really fun and gave us an excuse to finally go out and buy a tent and sleeping bags. We also may have bought those giant campfire marshmallows they sell at Walmart to make some ginormous smores. It was so nice to be out in nature, to get out of the heat and to get to know members of the ward a little better.
The new tent, so proud of himself for setting it up so quickly
Eating our yummy tinfoil dinners
Josh's method of deflating the air mattress. It was hilarious!
Last week we went to California. We had been looking forward to this trip for all of May so we were way excited to finally go. We drove to Anaheim on Monday and checked into our hotel. We went down to the pool for a swim and then got dressed for dinner. We went to an Italian place called Mama Cozza's which was featured on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. It was a fun atmosphere and decent food, plus we got to talk to two guys who were in town from Turks and Caicos (I love to talk to people with accents).
The next morning we woke up early and quickly made our way to Disneyland
Josh is so excited, we practically skipped the whole way!
He is much stronger than Emperor Zurg :)
Disneyland Churros (I think they might be infused with crack or something...srsly so good!)
Josh finally found where he had hidden his pirate loot...hmmm...he,he,he
I love all of the different hats at Disneyland, they just add to the magicalness of it all (yes, I'm sure magicalness is a word)
Splash Mountain, I don't really like the big drop but it's over so quick I can do it for Josh!
New Mickey Soundsational Parade, really fun floats...all the most awesome characters, even Mary Poppins was there along with all the princesses!
The Grizzly Rapids ride, we went on it three times, got completely soaked and had to go back to our hotel room and change
The new Little Mermaid ride that just opened last week. It was awesome, I love Ariel and Sebastian.
And so does Holly Madison, cuz we saw her coming into the exit for that ride when we were leaving. She is just as pretty in person as she is on tv. Disneyland and California Adventure was awesome, we loved the new Star Tours ride which had some crazy long lines and of course the World of Color show at California Adventure. It was so cool, seriously go watch it, totally worth standing for an hour after you've been walking forever and you want to cut your feet off because it seems like that would feel better than standing on them. Um...yeah the show is that good. We love you Disney, thanks for being so magical and happy and stuff. You rock! More details and pictures to come from the rest of our trip in our next post. :)
