The Wonderful Weekend

Wow! I love Labor Day weekend. We went to a resort in Scottsdale (last minute booking) for Saturday, Sunday and Monday. We did not take our camera but I will find some pictures online to include. I also used my camera phone once or twice. They had a nice pool and a lake that we could go out and ride paddleboats and canoe. We spent the weekend eating, canoeing and swimming in the pool.

Here is a view of the beautiful lake. They had hammocks strung between two palms trees overlooking the water. We laid in one next to the lake and didn't want to get up!
We had breakfast on Monday at the Pinon Grill next to the lake. It was muy deliciouso!
A great pool with a bar that we could order food and drinks. We ordered nachos and virgin Pina Coladas. Very tasty!
One of the nights we went to a pizzeria called Grimaldis where they cook their pizza in a coal fire. It was really good and we found out that they are opening a new location at the San Tan Village. Hurray!
Right across the street was a cute little icecream parlor called Sugar Bowl. Everything was pink and they have icecream?! How could my two favorite things be better combined? It was very good.

Josh ordered a Tin Roof sundae. He has now decided that Tin Roof Sundae is his favorite kind of ice cream.

It was a much needed weekend of relaxation. Now we are back to reality and missing the pool!

What a coincidence! Jake and I stayed there this July on a last minute whim. There was a good deal on a room and some money for spending in the hotel. The huge bummer is that they were rennovating the pool at that time. Who rennovates it in the middle of the summer!! It was nice, but unfortunately we didn't get to enjoy it as we would have liked.
